Sled

Just pulled from the mold, my new double ended concrete sled it weighs 177lbs.

I modified this sled with plywood and sheet metal for the sled row.

New sled made from light weight concrete weighs in at 278 lbs. and now I use concrete blocks made from one 80 lbs. bag each of regular quickcrete the weights varry from 82 to 87 lbs. with a total weight at about 790 lbs. 800 with a small block I made from left over concrete.

Friction Coefficient

With this scale I came up with a friction coefficient on grass of about .53 after pulling 177, 277, and 302 lbs. After doing that I looked up the friction coefficient of car tires on concrete which is about .015. So with a little more research led me to the approximate weight of trucks so that I can attempt to prepare for truck pulls by pulling the concrete sled. Here it is.

The peak of 415lbf on the scale display occurred during Mike’s pull for 25′ at 362 lbs.
